Portugal

Closing chapters - Opening roads.

And suddenly life offers you to open a totally unknown door, an occasion to launch yourself totally into the unknown, into an untraced path.

This demands closing known and comfortable doors, as we say, leaving the "comfort zone", that which is not exactly comfortable but very well known. Where we know how to handle ourselves, how to interact with others.

I decided to leave that zone and launch myself towards that new unknown stage, to travel with few belongings the 2000 km that separated me from my until then "home".

The road is a decision more than a journey, I said to myself ..... And after all, nothing prevents us from turning back, as we walk along new paths.

Portugal seemed to be the right place for my full recovery, health and mental.

So without further hesitation I booked accommodation for a certain period of time, until I could see where my adventure would take me.

I traveled through fields and roads, cities, countries, and when I arrived, a mountainous, winding, almost frightening road opened up for me, but there was no other way but up.

When I arrived, the view and the landscape left behind all fear, all fear of moving forward. As soon as I took possession of the house I knew it would be my place of healing.

Here I discovered people, laughter, casual encounters, abundance in every sense. The people surprised me by their inner beauty, their simplicity and their generosity.

It is here that I decided to spend 6 months of my life, getting more and more comfortable with the customs, the walks in the mountains and plains, discovering a thousand and one aromatic and medicinal plants. An open-air library.

A magic that few places offer, or maybe they do, but this was the one that came to me at a time of change.

Sitting in front of my fire as I do every afternoon, I decided to put down on paper these feelings. The afternoon with those blue pink colors are a delight and have a taste of Porto, while in the background sounds a soft Portuguese music.

I knew that this journey would give me the experience I needed to determine if this kind of life would suit me. Whether or not leaving city life would be difficult for me.

Knowing that it matters little here if you change clothes or shoes, that the look is inward.

Sometimes the rest of the road presents itself as you walk .... today I do not know, it is not clear where the next moment will take me, what is certain is that I enjoy everything that is presented here and try to record in my memory and my retina every corner that I travel daily.

The peace and tranquility of this "Village" as they call it, is undoubtedly the best cure that could be presented to me.
Of course, for this, it was necessary to have faith, confidence, and move forward.

Today I can confess that it was the best possible decision at this moment of my life.

I continue to be surprised by the people and their generosity, their laughter and stories, anecdotes and other things and above all the only "café" in the village open on Sunday afternoons. Where they gather in the square to savor coffee, liqueurs and tell stories, and above all to take out their Sunday clothes.

THANK YOU PORTUGAL.
It will be a unique and magical experience.
